headphone/mic not working.

mic/headphone ports not working on back or front of pc.

my pc has been newly built , maybe they havent been set to those jobs yet lol?

i aint a clue , any help would be greatly appreciated.

Audio drivers been installed?

On board sound or sound card?

Make sure you have the drivers installed as jealy said, also check the sound properties in control panel and make sure your not set to mute (common mistake poeple make)

on board , and i got windows 7 that installs it all for me? speakers work but i wont headphones and mic for gaming.

any more ideas?

my m board is : asus p5q se plus , if u think i need drivers could you link me please.

Well, with my pc whenever I took them out and put them back in sometimes they would stop working n I would have to fiddle in sound properties, swap ports round few times then they would work lol

Has to be faulty headphones tbh , if it was driver problems, speakers wudnt work
