In the nvidia control panel force the client to use the integrated graphics card see if that works. If not force it to use to 8600 and try again.

"Card Name: Standard VGA Graphics Adapter"

Looks like you haven't installed any drivers for your VGA card.

Also can you send a screenshot of your directx information:
- Hit start bar
- In the search/run section type dxdiag and hit enter.
- Go to the Graphics tab.

Ok - I think the problem is to do with the Graphics card - I've gone onto device manager - Display adaptors - The NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS Driver comes up with a ! next to it and when Right clicked onto Properties, It says on Device Status : Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

I've tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it to see if that works. But nothing :/

Oh man... Code 43 normally means something has gone pop in my experience... Give me a sec to do some googling.

Are you able to provide me with screenies of your drivers for your graphics adapters? Assuming you have more than one listed in device manager as you are able to use your computer? lol

Right click and go to properties on them.

sounds like you're running on your onboard card rather than the integrated one.

Integrated cards usually require ram to be allocated them, if you go in to your BIOS (press DELETE or F8 on boot up usually) you should have an option to change the amount of RAM is being used on your card - if that's set to 0 then try changing it to 256mb (if its in bytes then 262144)

After looking through Sam, looks like im missing the VGA.dll

and also going into the BIOS i do not get any settings for any graphics drivers on there. Cannot set the ram etc.

Post a screen shot of the Device manager.
If you have installed DX 9 then that really will not fix it as that was for OS < Vista
Windows will always try and install a default Adaptor if the correct 1 fails as in your case.
What laptop is it (make and Model) and the original OS will help .

Hello, i will give you the solution for this as you probably don't have the right driver. I've had the same problem untill a program saved me, it's called drivermax, search it on google, install it and make a real account on it. You will be able to download up to 2 drivers/day for free so pick the display one first. That program will download youre driver and it will install it and it would have to run as youre direct 3D will be enabled with the right driver.
