Help me pls (login issues)

I can log in fine on my pc to the server on my pc

Someone trying to log into my server fails . The IP is correct -- (same client) can make and account and can log in with the account, they click on the server splash screen KTEST-- but do not get the loading screen after that nor do they see their character choice screen. It just sits there and thats the end of it.

I made an account with a login and sent them the details and the character files named name.ktest.itm

Didnt make a difference..

I simulated this problem on my computer (changed the ftp.ini server name) thus the program could not find the character info i assume??

Anyway... anyone got any suggestions?

Client is from the same version as the sever (same package) its the same one i am using set up the same way with the correct address.

The name between the 2 files is wrong

The file you need to change is in the folder

c:\mirserver\mud2\logsrv\

Cant remember which .txt it is but open them all nd inside one you should probably see Ktest then ip then port

Either change Ktest to the name you want

Or make sure Ktest is entered in the ftp.ini in the client folder

REMEMBER - The name is case sensitive

I have the correct address and link in the txt and ini files. It has got ktest in the ftp.ini as well.

I think its wierd that everything works ok on my end, eg the client works with the server and such on my computer, as soon as it (same files) is put on another pc (ensureing to update the IP in the mirsetip.ini file) it lets you log in and such but not show the character screen.

I have a headache lol been on this for a few days now.

Do the ports refered to in !setup have to match those in logsrv.ini for instance? cause in !setup its refereing to logsrv port 10000 but logsrv.ini sais 6000 or somthing?

All fixed !!

For anyones info.. had to change the IP's on the server files from 127.0.0.1 to my net ip.. Using a launcher would have saved me all these hastles cause it would have done that.
