hi, I recently put up a mir2 server, and its all fine, I was surprised wen I got as far as being able to create a char, that actually stores in DB, but I come across a problem, when I click on start, Im left with a black screen, all that it shows is my cursor

My minds totally blank right now but I suggest:

- Make sure your using Mir1.4 and no later version (not 1.4i or above).
- Try replacing the Mir.exe your using.

my friend sent me a file to replace the exe he said "use this to run it" could this be mir1.4i? if so where could I get the original one back?

Does the patcher have some kinda funky taoist picture across the top?
If so you have 1.4i, but my guess is he gave you a virus or his mir.exe, which might be causing the black screen for you.

Open your Mir200 folder (default: C:\MirServer\Mir200), find Mir.dat, rename to Mir.dat or Mir.exe then replace your Mir.exe with that one.

Hmm I dunno if that is the prob, because I can connect to other servers fine..

also I dunno how to rename a .DAT into a .exe

Hmm, guess theres something wrong with the gates or the m2server.exe.

Making A .DAT Into A .EXE:
Open your hex program (such as UltraEdit), File > Open > select 'Mir.dat', File > Save As...> input 'mir.exe', close editor, copy and paste newly made mir.exe into your LegendOfMir directory.

I see, I see, I heard I need a maps patch, but does that actually affect anything? I mean I don't even see the greetings thing, its just black

If you dont see the greetings then its definatly not the maps. Try looking through the !setup.txt in your Mir200 folder.

can u attach your !setup.txt so I can compare it, because I don't kno what parameters I am looking for, as I previously said i am a big time n00b at servers

Sorry mine is totally different to a Mir2 server so uploading mine won't help.

Just make sure all of the directory locations are correct;
e.g. Mapdir=C:\Mirserver\Mir200\Map, etc.

KK I realised wot was wrong, I didn't have UnPlugNPlay disabled, so I cudnt open M2server, now when I open M2Server yeh it all seems to be going fine til...
