Help plz, PC error on start up

wont he have to type the full syntax?

ie

A:\DLGDIAG5.exe

not just DLGDIAG5

.exe is optional in dos. command.com is smart enough to add it.
same with A:\ if you are already in A:\ you can omit it in dos.

ah, i dont really use dos prompts that often, i think last time i used it was when i was trying to install windows 98 with an old old boot disk and you had to type everything.....

is the ISO you are burning called
Diag504cCD.iso? (2172KB)
cuz this CD shouldn't load all those drivers....

ye it is, ive re downloaded it again, burnt 2 cd and tried but seems the same.

When you see "Caldera DR-DOS 7.05"
quickly press F5

if you see "No command interpreter specified." just type command.com<enter>

A> COMMAND.COM

A:\> DIR

you should see around 7 files... one of them called DLGDIAG5 EXE 223,180
so type dlgdiag5<enter>

A:\> DLGDIAG5

Let me know what you see...

ok i press F5 and it says..

skipping configiration files... then says (same happens if i type command.com after)

now im totaly lost lol, as when i open up the DIAG540cCD.iso inside it has DLGDIAG5.exe....

ne way i tried messin around by typin in each command 2 see wot happens and this is wot happens...

DRDOS - command or file name not found

OAK - command or file name not found

NR - command or file name not found

README - command or file name not found

DCONFIG - command or file name not found

AUTODOS7 - syntax error then loads of writin comes up... looks same as wot it was loadin before abotu usb and that

WWBMU - opens up a new window thing.... but its all in (i think) german lol.... says loads of crap then at bottom says "ok" and "abbrechen"

not got much 2 lose so i went for ok lol... about 4 more screens come up with ok or abbrechen then finally came 2 a screen that had loads of parts in it but cant make it out as its in german =/ saw partition section but cant get 2 it... so fk knows -.-

this is rly annoyin lol -_-

try looking inside the DIR's by typing A:\name

so A:\DRDOS

then do a dir inside them and see what you have.

tried DRDOS, DRDOS<DIR>, DRDOSDIR, DRDOS DIR, DRDOS <DIR> nowt works..

I still thinks you burned the wrong CD.
try burn this again... I looked at the ISO. It doesn't have those files you mentioned.

DIAG504cCD.ISO 2.12 MB (2,224,128 bytes)

now.. to burn this file, you have to use Recorder->"BURN IMAGE"

so find "BURN IMAGE" (nero burning rom), "DISC IMAGE" (nero express).
then open that iso.

i was burnin the CD wrong lol. i said did i do it right no1 said nowt lol

wonderin if i burnt the CD right.. used nero startsmart and chose "make bootable CD" as option..

done how u said now and its all workin... doin tests and that now...

quick test on 1st HD = no errors
extended test on 1st HD = no errors

quick test on 2nd HD = no errors
entended test on 2nd HD = no errors

done "write zero to drive" in full on both HDs

reformated with XP disc

and guess wot? same error lol

so...... either HDs are totaly ****ed, or its the XP disk? :/

oh you have 2 healthy hard drives...

can you remove 1 of them and try again?

also what kind of XP are you installing? retail/oem/corporate? sp2?

i could try... just disconnect 1 of the leads ye? :x

and disk says: windows xp home edition, includes service pack 2 version 2002 (lol thats a bit old)

hmm maybe i do need a new disk, still cant see how both disks would have the same error tho

If both XP disks are scratched to fook, then thats why its not installing the partition.

Ill get you a link for a torrent thats fast for you to download.

Which version of XP is ur serial for.

didnt some1 say they are full of virus's and crap ~.~

and when i burn it 2 CD, do i do same as i did with the other thing... burn image 2 disk or w/e?

Not the ones i get they aint and I will stake my life on it as well.

XP PRO SP2

Basicully all you need to do is extract the file and if ur using nero, just double click on the file and it will image it straight to disk - They also should contain serials as well - but dont bother with them if u have a legal one.

yer its done i got windows XP home 1.

thing is tho... i been messin about with other PC, and well now i dont get the insert boot disk error ne more... and its all fine lol

im back on my normal (the broken 1) PC now with everything installed, games runnin fine and rebootin fine so... lol

its magically fixed itsself like it normally does :/
