help with GForce MX 440

well i`ve just got this graphics card
GForce MX 440 at 64 and installed it with latest driver i could find 66.93 version and all my games look weard and the graphics are all messed up...i donno what else to do to fix the problem if any1 can help pls do...
i`m downloading a detonator atm maybe it will help me fix it... =[

Detonator is just an older driver series, forceware is the newest and best performing, but I am not sure of that is the case on your cad series. I am guessing it is a problem with that game specifically, probably in the settings, res/aa/af/quality/etc

Better option, go back one driver to 61.77 and the problem will go away. I have tried that latest driver on a whole range of GeForce boards i have here and all had problems:

GeForce 4200
GeForce 3
GeForce4 MX (on board)

Remember they gear there drivers for every GeForce known to man including the latest 6800, the one back for some reason works fine where as the lastest probably works great ont he Direct X 9 cards but not so well on the Older DX8 Cards..

Look, how simple can i put this, the card is a piece of hardware, to drive this hardware you need software from Nvidia...

I am telling you as plain as it comes, when you installed the latest 66.93 drivers, certain games Fek up on older cards and causes instability. I have here 5 systems with a wide range of cards (NVIDIA).

This is what you do:

1. Download the following driver: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_61.77.html
2. Go to add/remove programs and remove the nvidia driver you ahve installed.
3. Reboot pc
4. Upon restarting it will find your card, cancel looking for drivers.
5. Run the 61.77 install program you downloaded at step 1

Now try the games, you should find the problem you had goes away...

It's not supposed to fix it, it's supposed to back up my theory that it's a game related issue not drivers.

Actually, that won't do much at all, part of the drivers will still be there.
If you need to delete drivers, you need to use driver cleaner 3.

And I have a GF4 MX440 64MB 8x agp card and the drivers work fine for me.





What kind of problems are you experiencing in 3D01?

Do this:

1) Download this http://www.mvktech.net/index.php?option=com_remository&func=fileinfo&filecatid=453
2) Download this http://www.drivercleaner.net/
3) Install Driver Cleaner 3
4) Using Driver Cleaner 3, 'clean' the following: 'nvidia' and 'nvidia wdm'
5) Reboot
6) Install the omega's
7) Try your games now.

edit:ermmm it deleted some window files i needed for windows to work well...and now i donno what to do lol anyway it sure cleaned my files too...deleted the whole nVidia ....and some other stuff from pc... i hope windows will work well lol

What did you delete that was windows critical, and what problems did you have with 3D01, and did you do what I wrote with the new omega drivers too?

well a pop up said to insert the cd...donno what cd because i inserted xp cd and it wanned something else to recover its lost stuff that were deleted...
i totally didn`t understand 3D01 just the thing was i saw bad graphics when running demos and i`m installing the omega drivers as we speak..i`ll come back with more info soon

the omega i downloaded was some .php file damn i have to redownload it now again.... pls w8 untill i reboot pc and see if still works..


takes around 20mins to downlaod then i`ll install the omegas hoping my pc will work after that ... lol :P

define bad gfx, like artifacts and corruption? just run the test for the first section.

might want to try a repair of xp while ur at it.

Is there corruption in other games though??? And if so what exactly. Try turning fastwrites off also.

i really think its a graphics card.... its not brand new and went into alot of pcs
i`m gonna brake it on the wall now and gonna buy a new 1 !
