Help with playing mir

i have recently updated my internet to a wireless router and since ive had it ive been unable to play mir in a good way... i can log into the server and the game runs fine for 10 mins, after about 10 mins the lagg will hit a massive lagg spike and it will either come bk after 5 mins and i have lagged out.. or my pc will completely stop and i cant do anything but reset. reseting my pc aint doing it much good either coz it dont shut it down lol..

any help will be much appreciated.

i just tryed that, and it says ive got the lastest drivers for my belkin 54g wireless usb network adaptor. so i will keep brousing for updates but no luck so far..

thanks tho, anymore help is much appreciated.

(oh p.s i can play any other game online so i think it must be somthing to do with the way that i connect to mir or somthing? any ideas lol)

I had the same problem.. although i never fixed my problem i just didnt hunt big groups in solo's seeing as i was a tao i couldnt help as much as usual but its the little gap inbetween the data being sent, when theres lots of mobs it all adds up and makes lag spikes...

i fort i'd give u a little bit more info on my pc.

im using a BT voyager 2100 wireless router and a Belkin Wireless network adaptor.

i was looking into port forwardin but im not sure...

just fort i would add. i can play WOW and counter strike find with low ping and i just cant get LOM to work without lagg out after less than 2 mins now :S its so annyoing..

Yea i can even sometimes get through to ZumaTaurus, but dam thats a challenge for my connection lol.

Hmm aint sure if you can play wow etc........

its propa confusing aint it... i dont see how i can play the new games but not the older ones.. i think it must be the way tht the data is sent between the server and my pc lol dont work very well :S ..

rite update..

i was just ingame and didnt experiance any lagg while i was wlking all the time i walk abbout i am fine as soon as i run i lagg out. and my pc freezes and what not..

this makes me think its my computer and maybe the right click on my mouse and windows playing up not mir at all. as on all over online games i play u dont use the mouse to move ur char so ur not holding in right clikc all the time

any help now will be liked..

i was thinking around the same lines, but if he can play WOW and other games such as that and struggles with mir2, which can be ran on almost all pc's then it cant be down to the computer specs...

like tofas says this cant be the problem as i have played mir before, all ive done since i last played is a full system wipe. and updated my internet to wireless. but just incase here.

OS. Win xp pro
Pro. AMd athlon 1.8Ghz
Ram. 512 DDR ram
Graphics card . 256 raidon somthing .....
Internet explorer is what i use to access the net.
erm need to know anything esle?

Make sure you have no viruses/trojans, they could affect game traffic.
No firewalls are limiting the connection are they?

how much ram r u usin an how meny programs are runnin wen u are on the desktop? also any anti virus softwear?

my pc is clean, and i dont have a firewall on, i have AVG anti virus on in background when i go to play and i close as many of the other programs i can before connecting to LOM.

I have been told somthing about routers have a built in firewall.? i do not know about this to well and i was wondering if anyone knew how to turn this off? i will now try mir with not even my anti virus running. (kinda scares me tho lol)

UPDATE !!!

but as of now it would seem ive found a new solution and i am able to play with now lagg or disconections.. all i have done is change the priortiy tree setting in tassk manager. to real time, its ment to make my system unstable but its worked a treat for now...

i have a way that u can minimize ur ram to a all time low an then giv it a try with my way? if u want to giv it a go add me to msn [email protected]
