yh i have but it keeps giving me bull**** like runtime error etc

re-install the sql.. and when installing this time put in the password of your windows account.. or u can choose to use the windows default login instead.. which will do.. then make sure u choose mixed mode and put sa as username and a password for your sql.. then finish the installation open the service manager and make it start.. it will connect this time.. and when it's connected u can do step 4 easily..!!!
