Hexing exp needed per level

When I decided to do this I thought it would be easy since I've seen it here loads of times, but now I've actually tried it I don't seem to be able to find clear easy to use instructions, just lists of strings that seem to come up all the way through m2server.exe. So can anyone post here an easy to follow guide for hexing the exp.
