steam is free to download, and is a must use for CS

CSS needs patches to fix the lag, my pings are in the 30 - 40 range and my rates are all set correctly according to the steam forums yet my gameplay feels like im playing with a ping of 400. CSS has a while to go befor its stable enough to be called "final"

There is no lag issues, your comp can't handle it or your joining the wrong servers if it is slow (spec server side).

Like I said above, I play CS:S a lot and it is fine. I get a ping anywhere from 15-75 depending on the server and who is on, but everything is peachy.
