hmm 2 probs plz hlp..

now may sound like n00b but i hav had probs an fixed..just nevr cum across these:

prob 1=

i go 2 install DB Commander and wen i click the install program i get this error msg sayin:

destination (wer it is)/dbc_2000.exe is not a valid Win32 application.

any1 no how 2 fix? if so plz plz tell me..

Prob 2=

i start server up and get this in M2Server:

an i was just wonderin if thsi M2Server error is becoz i havnt got DBCommander? is tht true..do u need DBcommader 2 run server?

its to do with your setup.txt

all i did was go into setup.txt and change mir.dat to mir.exe and it worked for me, also make sure every IP in ini files and set up txt etc are the same.. u need IP's in the chargat.ini etc

You do need dbcommander to run a server as it loads up the monster, magic and items databases.

fine ... delete ur db commander and then try... thats when u get that error

itis to do with db com, its cus u need to set up that heroDB thing in the control pannel (after u have installed DB com), this should all be in the gide on lomcn some ware.

once you dont need the db commander for running the server you need BDAdmin!
i wrote the dbcommander must be corupted he should download from an different site the dbcom. again!

ye but if u uninstall db commander then bdadmin uninstalls, and i THINK the only way to get bdadmin is to install db commander

i had them probs and as the guys said try different site m8, also guys is there different versions of DB commander depending on wot version of windows u have, or does it work on any windows version...if so could that be his problem?..or is it that i read to much stuff and confuse myself stupid..lol

Both BD Admin and DB Commander are totally separate files. You dont need DB commander to run a server. You DO need BD admin to hold the database.

It is to do with yourBDE ADministrator, make sure you got mud_db and HeroDB setup, also make sure the IDX is right in descending order in the stditems.db e.g
