Heard something funny today, the staff that sign people on at the sheffield job center went on strike today so people got their signing on money this week without any verification.

Job seekers allowance shouldnt be there at all. We are in a cycle of dependancy, and as government "anti-poverty" spending goes up, so does unemployment and poverty itself. Getting rid of it, along with many other tax-funded things, would free up a **** load of money in the private sector, going toward creating new jobs and increasing charity donations, which could go toward those who are genuinely seeking jobs. Two-thirds of a dollar are spent to collect one dollars of taxes (i dont know what it is here, but i assume it's similar), so if charities recieved just a 10th of what we pay the government anyway, the poor would still be better off. And keep in mind that we'd be paying out to fewer people.

Private charities are better anyway.

JSA is a retarded thing, but because it gives money to freeloading bums, but because the new process is entirely retarded and waste's extra money and resources for **** all.

The job centre I went to for 2 months after i finished college employed a retarded amount of people, most of whom I never saw doing anything. They had even employed a doorman to greet people and tell them where to go. I mean, the area im in is stupid, but the people there can at least recognise and walk over to a face the same way they have for the past 2 years.

Eventually they cut down the staff, but that was only after the £10k refurbishement of the building to make it look nice and modern, because people honestly go there to see visual architecture and some nice shiny metal.

Also, when I went to N.I on holiday and went to the Jobcentre there to ask about jobs, I was called to desk 82. The highest desk I could see was Desk 90. Thats right there were no fewer than 90 people employed there to cope with the demands of signing on days in N.I
