hi. ive been spending alot of time doing my server knowing that i cudnt get it up. just find it fun to mess about adding and playing about with new maps and the server files in general. started to wonder that theres no point lol. i dont want to find a host. well my problem. i have two pc's that run off the same ip. the computer that i use to host the pc i run from my main pc's interne( adsl broadband). when i go to find my ip on the host comp it comes up as the same as it is on the main comp. ne how i type in the ip that i got from whatismyip.com into server control and the server boots up fine. i then gave the files to a mate who entered my ip address, name etc into his wemade folder. he then tried to connect and it sed connection closed. now this shouldnt happen should it? i then went to find my ip on server control. and it found a different ip to the one it says on the website. so i changed my setting again and then gave my mate the new ip which was from the server control. he tried connecting to my pc but still got connection closed. now what is my problem? why does this have to happen to me lol. i know its a long thread but it gets my problem out in full. if ne1 would care to say wat might fix this it wud be greatly appreciated. many many thnx in advance.

are you running xp home if so you need to put your firewall down.then go in start-run type cmd then when box comes up type ipconfig and youll get your ip from that.

Click your internet connection, click properties, click "Advanced" then it'll have firewall settings there, just untick it to stopit
