Hosting ????

Hi im thinking of hosting my server from home like most peps do but is there any other way i can get it hosted buy a company or any other way?

i dont mind doing it from home its just i might be moveing in a month or 2 so i dont wont to take the server down when i get it up.

well you would need a server that would allow full acess to it via VNCX or another programe, it would be pricy enough i say (around41 pounds a month)

best guess is to have it at home

I guess 1GB of ram, and a 2GHZ processor + a 2MB dedicated line would be perfect.

as soon as i get my new processor i'll have 1.2 gb ram, 2mb connection and a ??GHZ processor, still don't know what power processor i can afford =p

don't get anything too expensive, get something cheap, but above 2ghz

Processor is not important in the slightest to a M2. Anything above 1Ghz is more than enough.

Its the upload speed thats important. If you really wish to have a great upload your going to have to look for a SDSL package (same upload as download).

512/256 will hold the same amount of players as 1024/256. A leased line would cost a lot more and is not worth it, I'd go as far as to say a rented dedicated server is probably cheaper.

Not personally... as its not generally something I look for. However I've been hearing a lot about http://www.fasthosts.co.uk/dedicatedservers/ recently.

cool im not really intrested, just wanna see price range, as i already have a dedicated server over in states that allows me to do this...
