I thought it would be interesting to see some peoples ideas & perspectives on how to generate an income for the basics in this game. Not so much about trying to make as much gold as possible but whether people actually mine or harvest chestnuts? Or grind in particular caves for gold drops and pots?

Last couple of days i started mining, i personally think it's slightly better than chestnut hunting. As long as you don't have too many nodes too far from each other it's a pretty reliable source for gold. Also there is quite an array of different ores you can mine, which many offer 4-5k per piece.

How do you make an income on Chronicles?

As a tao if I don't level in caves that are too hard for me then I can live off floor pots and make steady cash just hunting.

I did hunt spiders for their teeth but can't do that effectively now. I just try and do the highest reward repeatable quest I can. ATM it is the PSC one but I need a Tao to make it cost effective. If I am levelling there I do the quest over and over but after buying pots I end up with less than 20k from the quest.

I wonder if having gold go straight Into your bag would offer more money mainly from guild hunts as we kill so quick and move on its dangerous to go back and collect the gold lol. I know it's not from my levelling hunts as I pick everything except war armours up and sell them.

Pickup everything possible and sell it to junk npc. Also if you sell said items to their respective npcs you get more gold. Junk Npc takes a small fee off the item for convenience of buying everything.

Used to harvest spiders, but that got destroyed.

Used to do PSC quest, but cant after lvl 40.

Now at almost lvl 42 i firewall BugCave for 60k per hour and watch my kit get absolutely dura raped. Which is grrrrreat fun :------)

Is that selling by shouting? I guess it doesn't pay to sell through TM with the stupid charges. Myself ICBAed to sell ore by shouting in town, surely can do better chestnut gathering?

Can you sell some ore for 50 or 100k or more, like 1 or 2 millions for platinum p12+ for refining on other servers? I've no idea how the setup is on here because I am sure it would have been neutered like everything else, besides refining is not ingame yet, is it?

some of the ores sell to the weapon npc for around 5k per piece (I haven't been mining for a while so not sure exactly how much) and when filling your bag with ores you get a couple usually from one visit (I got 5 of the higher price ones before in one trip)

I would expect some of the high quality ores to be quite valuable... maybe even enough to put on the TM... like black iron for the fate quest I could see some people preferring to buy rather than mine the ores as its quicker. so maybe black iron would be worth keeping and selling to players and maybe a couple of the other ores (but I don't know which are used for what)

I quite liked mining the nodes its quite relaxing... but usually for cash I just level in lower level caves (bug cave was my fave as I could live off the pots in there and come out with a full bag)

Mine on tao. Hunt on sin. Sin pays for its self in bug cave at lv 24 and miner is profit

I typically make anywhere from 50-100k in one run to Bug Caves. I'm trying to run the PSC repeatable as much as is possible for me to do so for the 50k a run (collect the 75 skulls tt, pick up quest and meet tao back in PSC).

Spider Teeth used to be a favourite and now you don't actually hit the chestnut tree its just a Sit, Run & Wait monotonous task.
More for the noobs for town tele and pot money.

I enjoy the mining on here, but I still think that it should be able to be done on walls with a reduced amount of ore per hour and/or a time limit on the wall spot. Some people don't want to be mining for ore when they work full time jobs. Leaving a miner afk for a few hours while I do something constructive like read a book or go outside shouldn't be disabled from game...

Agree mining should be changed. Back into walls but reduced amount of ore and higher rs time for ore, so you don't habe to search for nodes but you can't make a fraction afk as what you can doing it manually.

would be interesting to hear from someone who tested both mining and chestnut gathering. I also get couple or sometimes five gold nuts from single trip - trip finishes when I go overweight, not sure how long that takes. I didn't go minining on this server yet so can't compare. I don't monitor makings lately but it is around 60 or 80k up to 120 or 140k per trip - carry weight of sin lev26 with some pots and RTs and maybe some item picked up here and there
