How Fishing works :)

I have been looking at the new korean patch, and i noticed all the provinces have been updated. So i went to have a look, WTF?!?! all the rivers have lights on them. After taking a closer look, each type of water has its own light level.

Seas = 100
Rivers/Ponds = 101

So i think it kind of explains itself, If when the user clicks, and the location of mouse has a light under it set to value 100 or 101, it lets you fish? lol XD not loads of info, but helps alot i feel .

The way fishing works can have so many ideas applied to it, you could in fact make a new mining system, just like Fishing, different pick axe handles, and heads. Etc.. then using light levels to depend what the ores you can get. This means with some new maps which have the gold and silver ore rocks in them , you could include mining spots in middle of maps, Rarer ores ?

Also new features to harvest bushes, and tree? IMPLIMENT FARMING FTW!!

It does... **** thing is. To redo all BW would take years, and other provinces doesnt seem worth it. although the mir.set can be edited so any map built is automatically set up.

Light level on ALL trees, bushes, rocks... lol Cliff edges also?? Make it possible to mine ANY rock wall? :O OMG possibiilitys are truly endless.

Rocks = Moss, and critters
Bushes = Berries
Trees = Fruits
Plant tray things = Vegetables

Making it so you can mine more things would be cool, could open up alot more types of Ores, also people can make hotspots etc.

not for live release, at a later stage, yer sure why not + its 4heros!

we got lots of things planned for the future that u wont see at live tho

I was going to code this in also, if you're up for sharing code though kyn, it would be appreciated so much. Otherwise I'll have to code it from scratch haha. I've guessed at how fishing works. Am I correct in saying it levels up?

I dont think it levels, think your chances are boosted with the items you equip on your fishing screen, still i need more info on it from the server side ive just got it working like mining atm with random fish.

rip has just released a set of files from korea with the fishing already coded in, i dont know if it would be in your interest to download that and have a look see if you can work it out??

That's how I was going to put it in at first. I've had a go at how it all works so when I have time I may code it in more fully. I haven't started to put the client graphics in yet.

Why guess at how the fishing system works when you could just
copy a popular fishing system such as W.O.W fishing system which

Why not? Only on the new maps, as they have fishing available.

You wont see the lights, or at least i don't think you will. Light level 100 isn't even a valid light level... there is either 0 (none), 1,2,3 or 4. so 100 is equal to 0 i believe.
