I think this would be a awesome gamegold feature , it doesn't unbalance anything and i think people would pay £5-10 to have a custom colour to there armour.

is this possible and would it be worth the team doing?

Would it not be possible for someone to modify the armour colour in the locally stored files anyway?

very true but most people cant be assed / want to support the server lol.

i just thought it would some colours would look good and would customise mir abit.

We need some good idea's for the gameshop , sam and the team aint gonna run the server for free. They'll need to fetch in like £80 a month for dedi fee's etc.

I was gunna say...I already do this lol

I've made the Heavy armour Red for example as Green was just getting boring! I did have Blue at some point! Might try another colour soon lol

what attitude lol?
i was simply curious as to on what you based that people would be willing to pay £5-£10 for a colour change.
or is it a figure plucked from thin air?

As for supporting the server, ive no problems with that, id happily pay a small sub, or a "monthly donation" via PP.
Altho making money from it for what ever purpose opens up a can of worms, You dont need someone like HMRC on your back.

people paid £500 for a spellbook , you think £5 is alot to have a different coloured armour?????

if your gonna donate anyway , how is £5-10 a stupid amount for a colour change on your armour.....that sir seems abit stupid.

So you would donate a small fee anyway and get nothing for it but £5 is alot for getting something IF you wanted it???? makes perfect sense mate.

i dont remember saying it was a stupid amount, as i said, curious as to how you reached the conclusion £5 -£10 is what people would pay.
Im also aware of the rumoured amounts people payed in private deals. im sure that exists in all games tho.

And yes id donate or sub with nothing in return except the pleasure of the game and playing on an even footing with everyone else, or the majority lets say.
Game shops make it an uneven playing field, even for colours and so called "Balanced non gamechangeing" stuff.
if its something i cant get via a drop or a quest, then its not an even playing field in my eyes.
tho i do realise this is most probably how the games gonna go. I will still play, and see how things pan out :)

Horrid idea, coloured amours look tatty as hell. I would suggest coloured names, different hair styles or auras Not armours/Weapons.

Depends how well they're done... go look.

I don't know but maybe he's basing it on the fact that people are willing to spend sometimes hundreds of pounds on items? On that basis do you not think £5-10 on a colour change sounds feasible? I do. Kind of a no brainer in fact. As for your argument on "balanced non game changing stuff" making the game an uneven playing field; if it's really going to upset you that someone else has a black armour when all you can get is green, put your money where your mouth is and fund the entire running of the server but don't sit there shooting down other peoples' harmless ideas just because they don't sit well with your "ethics".

Come on people stop living in nutshells it makes for dull conversation at the least.

thanks tai.

For the negative comments , i wasn't saying it was a great idea but i think it was a good 1 for a non ''game changing'' add on , which a few people might be interested.

stop speculating , how you know the team wont add in dyes which you can add to your armour etc? the majority of the mir community in my opinion over the age of 16.

I don't wanna cause an argument but people are all negative then start moaning when the server will be closing because no-one in buying the ''crap none game changing items'' , there not asking to make a profit off the server but break even on there outlays , what more could you ask for?

To answer your question, it's not difficult at all IF you know what you're doing. But it is quite time consuming. You basically need to know your way around Photoshop and Wil editors.

I personally don't see it taking off too much. I don't like the idea, but it's an idea - I'm not going to flame it down (too much) :P

On the other hand though, there are quite a few interesting idea's on another thread to help boost cash for dedi pot. I'd rather them idea's be putl inplace well before this one. This idea can just look too tacky and get silly.

Worthing is depressing.
Ideas for a 'montly sub' (donation...)

£10 = 10 tokens

Pet Store: Store pets 1 token for 5 or 2 tokens for 'special' like Frost Tiger
Lightwings: 2 Token, 50/50 dura purely is a light.. possibly amc/ac 1-1 max.
Hair change: 1 Token
Impact/Spirit/Magic Drugs: 1 token for 5

Silly things like this.. stuff at the lazy people will pay for. Nothing game altering though.

i like that , £5 is good figure imo. if 20 people sub £5 a month ( which they will ) the team would get by.

Or a game credit token for £5 paid via PP or Game shop, gives you a months game credit, use token ingame at the "Game time NPC", when you log on you have upto 30mins to use the "Token" or it logs you off.

It dont even need to be a fiver, dependent on player numbers could even be £1 or £2
