Or a game credit token for £5 paid via PP or Game shop, gives you a months game credit, use token ingame at the "Game time NPC", when you log on you have upto 30mins to use the "Token" or it logs you off.

It dont even need to be a fiver, dependent on player numbers could even be £1 or £2

not everyone can/wants to pay for gametime , this would stop some users playing imo

Paying for a private server is the last thing i'd do.
donating is something different not to mention if a company that somewhat has the copyright of some of these files like the pictures(by this i mean most maps, animations, etc) find out you are hosting the server with their content oly then made by yourself they can still sue you since you're making money from it thus it's not really a possible thing.

This is very true, tho how anyone could complain about £1 or so for a months play i dont understand.
I spose it leaves the game team in a bit of a quandary, theres also been lots saying they wouldnt play if theres a game shop.

This is true also, tho others do similar and seem to have no problems, P69 server for example.
I mentioned previously the last thing you want is HMRC on your back etc.
A gameshop is still an income from the game, tho maybe a gameshop rather than "subs" is the way to go, in which case i see no diff in tokens for game play or paying for a hair colour etc. Least in game time credit you get to share the cost amongst everyone who wishes to play. There cant be a fairer system than that.

a quandary!

people was moaning about the gameshop because how many servers these days make a server just to actually cover costs??? most have best items ingame in them for like £500.

I know i defend them alot but this is the only server that's interested me in the last 5-7 years.

It's not entirely possible to do the same way it is done in Mir3. It would require making a variety of colours available to each Armour manually, which would be very time consuming and increase the client size a fair amount too.

I spent over a tenner for a League of Legends skin the other day.

People will buy what they wanna buy.

I guess the difference there is Riot games are a fairly reputable company and have plans to keep League of Legends running for years.

A mir server can last for as little as a few weeks.

This.

To be honest this is possibly one of the reasons I never spent a lot, if anything on a mir server.. Very unpredictable.
