Please bountie enlighten us to what music you're into, and your ignorance just astonishes me, you are such a dumb**** to realise most modern pieces of music (not just rock and metal) have electric guitars in them. However, you're too blinded by your ignorance to realise that. Electric guitars can be used for all pieces of music not moshers/skaters, and once again your amount of ignorance is proven again.

Hank Marvin, Dimebag Darrel, Daron Malakian, these are successful musicians, famous for what they do best which is create music and using an electric guitar, they have all made lots of money and fulfilled their dreams, so if one is living their life to the full and living what they have always dreamed about, how is that lifeless?

decent starter guitar MentaL, i remember my first electric guitar about 4-5 years ago, i started with a Fender replica (most people do, and that reminds i really should get that guitar back.....) gradually built up my collection, rising through the ranks from crap to slightly better :P from a hohner acoustic, to a encore fender replica, to a encore union jack ibanez replica, to a b.c rich tribal warlock
but that's a bargain for a fender replica starter, n1.
