since in theory (provided milo uses latest exe) after reboot client can finaly handle custom keyboard layouts
i figured i'd post a quick guide on how to change your keys

first of the file containing your key layout is saved in:
your mir folder (exe locatoin)/ config/acem2/charname/ customkey.ini <you need to have logged in on the char at least once to have this folder/file)

inside there's 2 sections for each key
[shiftstate] and [key]
- the shiftstate section determines wether you need ctrl(option '2'), alt(option '4') or none of the 2 (option '0')
- they key is a number representing the key on your keyboard (easy reference: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AS2LCR/F...=00000520.html< key code option)

make sure you dont put 2 functions on same key btw that wont work :p
basicaly a great example on how i plan on using this:
- i'm gonna be putting my ctrl+f1 - ctrl+f9 (aka skill button 9- skill button 12) into keyboard F9-F12
and put the normal F9-F12 to ctrl+F9-ctrl+F12
so i can use 12 key buttons rather then messing with ctrl for skills :p

All credit for this goes to thedeath. this was posted on AceM2 forums and i could never find it so i have made a new thread with all this info init.

i have changed mine for the F9-12 buttons, it does seem like it could take some concentration to figure out so i will post this for you.

you can just copy and paste this into the relevant file.

Wait, you can remap the large map key so you go from large to normal map with just one key press?

Damn, sorry for double post, thought they would merge

Ctrl=4 and Alt=2 here, OP says the other way around (see the default "Log Out=2" - that's Alt+Q)

Also MAY THE GODS BLESS YOU, CHOSEN ONE

For whoever is interested, my keybinds:

(Note: it's amazing I can play Mir 2 with default Mir 3 keys \o/)

Q = bag
W = char
E = skills
C = trade
T = non-functional "big map"

Ctrl+Q = Quests
Ctrl+W = Friends
Ctrl+E = Mail

Ctrl+C = char
Ctrl+B = bag
Ctrl+S = skills

F9 = Ctrl+F1 skill
F10 = Ctrl+F2 skill
F11 = Ctrl+F3 skill
F12 = Ctrl+F4 skill

Alt+1 = Ctr+F5 skill
Alt+2 = Ctr+F6 skill
Alt+3 = Ctr+F7 skill
Alt+4 = Ctr+F8 skill

am struggling to get this to work. Ideally I want to use the number pad 1-9 to replace current F1-F9 skill buttons.

Does anyone know if this can work, and is anyone prepared to share the code with me so I can paste it in 😊

Would be amazing if it works tho, thanks OP

Num1 = 97, Num2 = 98, etc.

Modify the [second] value (at the bottom) of SkillButton1 to 97 (where I have 121), the value of SkillButton2 to 98, etc.

I'd give you the full text but I'm on my phone

An unfortunate side effect of changing char/skill window/bag keys is that whenever I type a word contain their new assigned keys (such as "new") the windows pop open. Yes, I hit Enter before typing.

also if the keybinds are already used for something else you will have to change them otherwise it will keep the old ones ie. 1-6 are quickslots (for pots etc) so if you dont change them aswell 1-6 will still be on quickslots and not on the new thing you want them to be on.

it doesnt look like the quickslots can be changed though.

nope this is not bannable and the three to four times i have posted this (or atleast quoted TD's thread) have not resulted in any words of warning from the team... i even think they said it was ok the first time ti was posted.

how does it give them an advantage? this just means now if you can make it so you dont have to use shift/ctrl/alt for 8 skill buttons. they can still only action bar 16 skills.

If this is a feature of these files maybe this thread should be sticky'd so everyone can use it.
