how wud i check if a certain graphics crd is suported with my motherbord other than buying it an trying :P normally how i wud do it.
Depends.how wud i check if a certain graphics crd is suported with my motherbord other than buying it an trying :P normally how i wud do it.
Depends.
Is it a branded machine of a home built machine.
The reason I ask this as some branded machines will only allow upto a certain range of graphix cards to be added - Best to find this sort of information out from your branded machines site
For home machines that you have built yourself - just check the manufactures site for a list of supported graphix cards for your board.
But as pointed out above as long as its AGP/PCI/PCI-E they are all supported - Just reme, ber to check a branded machines website first for supported ones.
The reason being as ACER machines will only support upto a certain G/card any higher and u void ur warranty and my posibly kill your machine.
Retard now am I.the reason being opening the case will void your waranty
ignore map, hes a retard through n through
just make sure your AGP \ PCI-E slot is fast enough for the card (ie if the card is AGP x16 you cant use an AGP 8x slot (you may actually be able to use it but it will certainly run slower if at all)), shouldnt be a problem, dont get a PCI card, get PCI-E (newer, future-proof (lol as if thats true)) or AGP (older), the other thing being some cards require a power connector (the PCI-E one being a special one so you might need to upgrade PSU in that case, if your not sure its a 2x3 block connector), infact the higher end cards will have minimum power ratings too.
my best advice is to look at the full spec for the gfx card and use your common sense
once again, ignore map, he doesnt know his left from right, he cant even lie for ****, he thinks branded machines are "special" because he believes the waranty and not his own brain, i mean why would they tell you that you CAN upgrade parts when if they say you CANT they then sell you a whole new machine instead??? DUH! Oh and he also likes to waste other peoples time and money when it comes to trying to make himself look more intelligent than my toenail clippings.
NOW EVERYBODY POINT AND LAUGH!!!!!!!
:bbcguy:
I can tell you now thats bull**** and you know why I know its bull****.actually your warrenty does become void alot of the time if you open the case. i work at currys, and any pcs sold from currys/currys.digital/pcworld have the warrenty specifically saying if you open your case or upgrade any part of it, it voids the warrenty, unless someone from the shop installs it for u.
i believe it will be different from each place you buy your pc from.
I can tell you now thats bull**** and you know why I know its bull****.
I used to work for PCservice call aka The Tech guys
That is a cop out with the store you work in, you know why. A user is allowed to upgrade any part in that machine they want apart from mobo/cpu everything else they can. Its called DSG trying to upsell to PCservice call and they have been fined for it.
And by the way this is outlined on ur intrenet go look at the cool pages, you will see what I'm talking about.
But then again thats stores for you, never following anything right and make up there own rules.
Persficully on that subject outlined by Farphit I do and you know why I do.You think you know everything, but you dont, hehehehe.
Can u actually read.Ugh, you talk too much, again your saying that part of the PC can be upgraded without voiding your warranty, it clearly states that if you do attempt to, it will void your warranty, no matter what your upgrading or what the **** ever, now die.
You need to have memory done by a professional lol? Wtf... I mean if you're retarded enough to get static discharge then thats your own fault. And if you're that worried about it, buy an anti static band they cost like £4...
As for the problem at hand, Stonehelms post is probally the best way to check.
Can u actually read.
Everything u upgrade your PC with can potentially void its warranty.
I stated you can't change ur cpu or mobo and that ur mem you are best having it done by a pro.
Really learn to read.
