since in theory (provided milo uses latest exe) after reboot client can finaly handle custom keyboard layouts
i figured i'd post a quick guide on how to change your keys

first of the file containing your key layout is saved in:
your mir folder (exe locatoin)/ config/acem2/charname/ customkey.ini <you need to have logged in on the char at least once to have this folder/file)

inside there's 2 sections for each key
[shiftstate] and [key]
- the shiftstate section determines wether you need ctrl(option '2'), alt(option '4') or none of the 2 (option '0')
- they key is a number representing the key on your keyboard (easy reference: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AS2LCR/Flash_10.0/help.html?content=00000520.html< key code option)

make sure you dont put 2 functions on same key btw that wont work :p
basicaly a great example on how i plan on using this:
- i'm gonna be putting my ctrl+f1 - ctrl+f9 (aka skill button 9- skill button 12) into keyboard F9-F12
and put the normal F9-F12 to ctrl+F9-ctrl+F12
so i can use 12 key buttons rather then messing with ctrl for skills :p

anyway to stop this effecting keys you use to type? like for example i bind something to "e", each time i use e when typing it uses the spell.

what im asking is anyway once the chat box is open it ignores spells?

thanks.

Thanks for the update TD, ive always been curious about an optional D-Pad for movement. I know some people will say theres too many commands to fit on a controller but I usually find I use about 4 skills, I would love to kick back and play mir with a ps3 controller and Bluetooth is almost a standard now with most new pc's I think it would be very forward-thinking to implement an option for this.

This would be much more coding to implement that simple keybinds.
Though this would also give certain people an advantage. For example I could use the analogue stick on my keypad to move, and still target people with my mouse while running freely. In fact yeah, add that option, that would be nice. :p

i think you got the control and alt mixed up, i dont use alt for skills i use control but my options say =4 (which is alt if what you are saying is right)

and my change to f12 wont work, it stills brings up the options menu.

would have to consider adding a nearest enemy command with some kind of highlight around the target and boom you've got a console style game ( open the flood gates to new players )
