My mate is having a big problem with his laptop, as stated its a IBM one, when you turn the laptop on it brings up the IBM logo. leaving it (as if it was loading normally) then it will pop onto a black screen and day, "ERROR: Date And Time Are Incorrect". then it will pop from that screen to a new screen with just a padlock on it, and when u go to eneter anythin in on there its like its a "password".

was just wondering if there was anythin that some 1 can think of. btw iv not tryed to reinstall windows (yet) though i wud ask before i did.

That'll most probably be the BIOS password, tell your mate to stop nicking laptops from work.

To get around it you need to really either know the password, or open the laptop up and reset the BIOS memory by taking the BIOS battery out. Google that part, you should also find disassembly instructions for the model.

There are also boot disks you can use to wipe BIOS, but I've never really looked into it, always struck me as easier to take it apart.
