Scrap the idea as differently classes will always do better than others and focus on battleground ... would be a epic update

While thinking about battleground last night I had an idea for something like an Arcade style fight map.

  • Arcade Mode
  • Small square maps
  • 1 monster per map
  • Kill said monster and you move onto the next stage
  • Options to continue or leave and save progress
  • Different settings Easy, Medium, Hard, Group
  • Rewards for progress, better rewards the further you go

Easy and Medium modes would have no drops (monsters and players)
Hard and Group modes would have pot drops from monsters and players drop like normal if they die

This is just an idea but I like it.
If anyone wants to add to it please feel free to do so.

BH
it is good idea

Because it's no fun to end up in room 23 and have no mobs there because someone just cleared it, wait for respawn, then get PKed?

If you want that, go to one of the caves. What's forcing you to do this?

forcing who to do what? fk u on about.

fix the rest of the content first, this is just a distraction.

I like the endless tower thing. I think when Lone made a server from Mir revenge it had something like this. Item from each floor would grow in stats/quality as you got to anew floor.

Floor 1 stats where piss poor
floor 20 stats where half decent etc.

but it I agree with jez. There is much to fix before we put something Else In That will probably need fixing.

Maybe some people would prefer to do this type of thing to leveling/cashing in caves? What's wrong with having options that vary slightly?

This idea is solely for group mode

Make it so that nothing drops in the cave at all. At The start after clearing floor1 (In group mode) everyone gets a trinket that fits into the unused slot it has 1-1 dc/mc/sc and each floor you clear everyone gets a item (like marbles) and each 10 marbles can be traded in for a 100% success rate trinket gem(only works on trinkets) these gems come in wide types (hp,mp,ac,amc,dc,mc,sc,crit damage ,acc , slow but not A.speed) one trinket can be upgraded up to 5 times but only have +2 max of any stat so eventually it'll have +2,+2,+1.

This fixes some issues people have but do make the bosses hard like Orc champion etc so it'll take some time until people have it.
people can also only attempt it once a day and then will be flagged.

Hope you like the idea for the reward it gives.

battlegrounds was the best cave for fun and thrills and pvp, work on that.

this idea sux. instances are for wow, the idea of a sandbox game is not to play solo in a room wrapped up in cotton wool away from the big bad pkr.

mir is an mmo, this reduces it to a desktop rpg.

look at the past threads, theres a hell of a lot of support for BG, done right its a sure fire winner!

I have no idea what gives you the impression that Mir is a PvP-centric game. It was clearly not developed as one. Penal colony, mass drop when you die while red, guards killing PKers on sight, Archer Guards (which were added well to SZ/towns well after release, to keep PKers that the devs clearly didn't want hanging in front of the BW book shop) all exist for a reason. You were also yellow for a hell of a lot longer on Euro than on here, which had the exact effect of deterring indiscriminate PKing.

You wanna PvP? Grow a spine and contest SW or hold player-hosted PvP tournaments with no pots, like the sane players in Euro used to.

Winning a 1v1 PvP match because your opponent had less Suns/pots/RTs than you does not a man make.

Also the gambling house was instanced in Euro. Who are you to say that you know better than the creators of the game and the millions of people who enjoyed the gambling house?

Freaking trolls.

All i have to say is that when you start a new char your on attack-all. Don't see how that doesnt seem centered around pvp?

You're absolutely right, I completely forgot about the burgeoning underground Fight Club for level 1s.

the novelty of the gambling house wore off after a week, to say mir isnt pvp centric shows your head is firmly up your arse.
the thread asks for opinions, i gave mine.
BG is the way to go.
you my friend are the troll.

Yes Mir was not developed to be a pk game it had that as a side part of the game. But as always the community took advantage of it and it became a huge part of the game.

I think ink we would all agree if Mir didn't have open world pvp it would have died along time ago. I'd be playing wow for instance lol.

Did you even play Euro? Lots of people were still spending their entire day in the GH a year after it came out, because 1m gold was still a lot of money.

And just because some people are tryharding to make it PvP focused (a vision WeMade and BH don't share) doesn't mean it is.

What do you think makes Mir PvP centric? The broken MR stat (which is the only PvP stat)? The complete lack of PvP class balance? The brown/yellow/red system which on Euro did its job of heavily discouraged PKing splendidly?

They'd have removed going brown if they wanted people to PvP willy-nilly. I can't see how else you could interpret the mechanic except as them wanting people who attack without provocation in a public area to be instantly jumped and killed by any and all bystanders and for there to not be any repercussions for defending yourself.

And the thread asked for constructive feedback, not opinions that you back up with BS statements (which you seem to randomly pull out of a hat like a magician that's lost some of his FocusMarbles), mixed with trolling and personal attacks.
