Hi,

Just thought I'd see what you guys think of this idea.

How about an exp boost for every hour that you are not logged in?

Like every hour you are logged out, you get double exp for 10 minutes time. Maxing out at 60 mins double exp (6 hour logged out time).

This would let the people who can't play 24/7 have a chance at not falling so far behind the ones that can play 24/7.

I'm pretty sure WoW has a system like this. Might be difficult to code but would keep people who cant play as much interested in the game.

Luckily I work from home a lot, but a few of my friends quit because whenever they logged out to sleep or work, they logged back in and found themselves even further out of the top 20 list.

Lemme know what you think :D

GD.

I only get to play during the week maybe 3hours a night if lucky, longer on the weekends. I have accepted i wont be top 50 for level due to family/work. Mir has always been like this.

10mins per hour offline will actually give the "no-lifers" more of a benefit, as they can go sleep and straight back on to a dbl exp buff.

Something like 10mins per hour off line, but only after being offline for 6hours.

IE offline upto 6 hours no buff, 7hours - 10mins buff, 8 hours - 20mins etc.

Yeah, well maybe after 8 hours offline, you get 1 hour double exp, or even better - 2/3 hours of 50% extra exp (so they don't just hunt for an hour)

Anything to allow casual players to think "Actually, its worth doing a few hours hunting because I have this bonus that others don't".

Also - for them to think - ill smash another £10 on this to get some more Exp potions, because lvling up is now closer than I thought :D.

For future reference this is a very well documented and used technique. You coulda saved a lot of time just saying 'Resting Bonus - yes/no?' :D

Jamie wasn't dead against the idea per se when I brought it up, but he seemed less than inclined to give bonus when logged off entirely. So it seems a bit of a no goer.

If it did get implemented a weekly cumulative online total score would be the best way to implement it.
Online for 0-10 hours = 24 hours double xp, 10-20 12 hours 20+ nothing. This method would allow the real casuals to have double exp almost constantly and prolong their time on the server before they fall so far behind that they cant even get on group/guild hunts

8 hours offline is what 90% of the population achieve every day. that is a poor suggestion.
If you play 3 hours a day every day you are not a casual.

The rested xp after a certain amount of time logged off seems like a good idea, it means the people really geeking don't get the buff easily and it gives incentive for casuals to go and hunt. I've been geeking hard and I certainly think its a good idea to keep a healthy user base.

Agree with Raz on this one. It needs to account for time played, so that the already hardcore who are sleeping don't get further benefits.

Probably best to do it on a weekly basis, distributed out via an NPC.

The term "geeking it" is there for a reason, if you want to catch up, quit your job, leave your wife/husband, put your children up for adoption.

All valid ways to catch up without exp boosts.

This would be great! World of warcraft style please, rest exp gained only when in a safezone or logged out at safezone.

5H server has 40% buff if logged off in SZ, not sure exactly how it is set up but max is four hours I think or less, depends how long your char was logged out.

I logged out early morning today, like ~2am I think, maybe 3 am or even later :pirate: (with buff expired) and now 6pm I have 2h 10 mins 40% exp buff. Off hand if you log off at some more reasonable time, like you got to go to work and log back on in the evening, you get full four hour 40% buff. The buff pauses if you log out while in a cave too which in effect means that casuals have this buff during weekdays pretty well for all their time online.

I see it as more of an incentive to keep the casual player spirits up and see some progress, no way it allows you to do any serious catch up, geeks are too strong for that and it doesn't matter if they get some benefit from the buff too or not.

The weekly hours played idea is great :)

I play between 4-8 hours a day so wouldn't effect me - but it would help a lot of my rl friends out who can only play a few hour per day!

No offence here but it seems the jobless people have a massive advantage and are leaving working people behind.

The working people are where the £££ comes from so it would be beneficial to keep them interested.
