Just putting an idea across maybe a lot of you will not agree or may think it's a stupid idea but in a way will make life just a little easier for us.

So, here it is..

I had been thinking about this while at work and came up with the idea if possible for an 'Extra button' that could kind of bring up a little menu within mir which is coded to work with a media player you have open in the background on your PC enabling you to choose songs from your list or change songs and or volume.

This came to me as I love music and never have mir's sound enabled whilst playing I always have music on and if I'm hunting, minimizing to swap songs is a complete utter pain!

I mean I completely understand that this could be hard to do, maybe not do-able at all but thought I'd give it a shot see what people think on this?

I vote you make better playlists :P
Not sure how easy this would be for the coder as there is many different media players out there which will be used.

Ofc there will be a lot of different players but let's say have make it compatible with wmp purely because almost everyone has this pre installed and I personally don't see the harm in using it

Have you ever used Xfire? its a bit like a gamers MSN, which shows what game a friend is playing and keeps track of hours played, etc.
It has an mp3 player built in which can be used within games, change track and volume etc.
The only problem is, it doesn't support Mir (that I know of) , however the amount of games it does support is huge and loads of new games are added to the list regularly. Maybe speaking to the Xfire team could be a possible place to start?

Edit:
Just googled this:
http://www.xfire.com/games/lom2
It says "Shanda Entertainment", that's the type of Mir that Chronicles comes from right?

No I have not ever heard of Xfire to tell the truth haha, and yes I think these files are shanda, as far as im aware how ever that link you provides says it was published in 2001 surely it won't still support these files now after advancing so much?

Could always play in windowed mode with your fav music player to the side?

I agree with Samuel here, from the moment mir introduced "window mode" i have not had any issues with changing playlists/tracks.

adding in a feature like this would be alot of work for not very much payout. I remember Heroes files had a built in media player.. but that was never used really.

Also you dont even need to "tab out" to change songs. Just hit ALT + ENTER(i think?) on you're keyboard and it will switch betwean windowed and fullscreen modes anyway.

Completely understand with the windowed mode which I used to be able to do previously but now I have a PC, playing in windowed mode isn't really an option.. I use my tv to play which is wall mounted due to not owning a moniter, even if I did I'd have no room for it.. Anyway I sit on my bed to use the PC haha so in windowed mode it's way too small for me to even see the screen. It was just an idea anyhow ofc we can cope without just though it would be a nice feature
