Hm, I'm confused too now. I think the new Yonah's have a bigger cache, and more overclocking potential than the X2 series, although I thought the primary attraction was them being the new 'mobile' cpu. Haven't read much into it, as I don't really keep pace with Intel shiznit, plus it's not in the UK yet.

Exactly what i was thinking O.o

That CPU is in their new dual core laptop line. Intel gaming sucks for the desktop, but their mobile CPU's when overclocked are rediculous beasts due to their much better amd-esque architecture and blazing fast load of cache.

The Pentium-M clock for clock beat the crap out of any AMD CPU when it came to gaming. And now the Yonah beats the **** out of AMD when it comes to gaming.

Any problems though? Yep, they're laptop (mobile) CPU's. This means there's no desktop motherboard support.

Asus developed an adapter to put a P-M chip in a P4 motherboard such as the P4C800 or P4GD1. These boards allowed GREAT overclocking with the Pentium-M chips. There were a couple motherboards released that supported the P-M without the adapter but they sucked when it came to overclocking.

Now with the new Yonah chips a lot of motherboard manufactuers have been developing desktop boards to support, the most promising is from Aopen.

But, there's always a catch... Which is they are non-existent except for Asia, and even then they cost around $250-300 USD. Compare this to the average motherboard costing between $70 and $200 USD and you can see this board is only for the hardcore enthusiest with money and connections.

I wish I had one :(

You know that an African child dies every time you try and make your own ironic fact? Don't say such silly things.

p.s. If you meant sarcasm, please state it. It's somewhat hard to pick out the vocal tone that sarcasm entails on the internet.

oh i'm terribly sorry. i just assumed that it would be common knowledge that the richest man in the world, the founder of Microsoft, the owner of a house with walls litterally lined with hardware, would actually like computers so therefore my comment must surely have been sarcastic.

I shall know better next time. thankyou for providing such a valuable public service.

p.s. an african child dies? wtf.. take ur own advice and "Don't say such silly things."

I'd do what data would do, but i'd buy like 5 datacenters.

Hmm, I suppose multiple data centers scatterd around the globe could be nice.

Annon, you realise 2 of them is pretty much the same as 10 monitors?
Those would annoy me anyways if windows just treated them as one large monitor, that would be really really gay

yeha i kno they are but you have the option of almost seamless merging of images across the multiple desktops, good for spanning a movie across 2 or 3, or surrounding yourself with ultra-widescreen gaming. plus they look cool.

I have 2 monitors which are the same, side-by-side and spreading things over both doesn't work 2 well, cos you have a big split down the middle.

The gaming could be fun if the game supports it, some games wont work with really widescreen resolutions cos it gives you an unfair advantage
