Basically im sick of playing a server with files i think have so much potential, they end up doing down and GMS quit. I can't say they don't try because they do, i have very very little experience in making a server, i can just about script and make maps.
I have over the last few years played a huge amount of mir servers and i think i know what ideas can distinguish a great from a one week wonder.
To the point, im wondering if anyone can help me out just to teach me the ropes ( I AM NOT ASKING FOR YOU TO DO EVERYTHING FOR ME) Don't get an idea of my idlness into your head, i am currently searching lomcn for a guide but any outside help is always good to have. I have no experience with SQL at all i dont know if it will run on Vista? I can't code and i will probably stuggle. Im not aiming to have a server up within months i am willing to work hard. I can somehow find the drive to do mir things over A-level coursework.. which isn;t a good quality always lol..
Before people flame and say "You've done servers before" or "You'll never be able to learn"
I am fairly intelligent and think i can learn. And this account is shared, my friend had released servers via this account..
Info i need and am now searching for also:-
Best files to use.
Which SQL.
What is needed to get it up privately atm on my laptop.
Will i have a problem hosting for a team with a router?
Anything you think might help.
