Hoping these books will take a minimum of 4 weeks graft to make.. Or its another element from the drop system which would be made redundant

oh gawd im agreeing with Gucci again lol

Also agree ingredients should be a obtained through a quest. that would make level specific.

just my 2 penneth

How about....

Each book takes 20-30 daily tokens to craft, you have 1 daily quest a day. I would say 30(basically 1 month), but some might say closer too 20 incase some days you can't do a daily.

Daily quests could consist of killing say 200 or higher monsters/collecting 100 or higher items(I don't know a good amount) in a cave around your level.

This way it would take a minimum of 1 month per book.

Why level restrict them should be the real question... What is the difference between doing all the crafting as a noob then leveling and doing the leveling and then the crafting?

lol, none? The book still remains the same level to use.

I know where you're coming from, but i just think it would be good. I don't mean you can only start the quest when you're the same level as the skill, maybe say if the skill if for 42, you can start the quest at 38 etc

There is No benefit on crafting them with level 1 or level 38 or level 42 * u still need to get the materials and you need the Level - The books are not tradeable so no1 will benefit of them.

So restricting the craft-able level really goes against what I am hoping to achieve... The purpose is that being able to craft say FlameField before 42, then gives people an incentive to level to 42 to then be able to use it... The other way around provides less of an incentive, at least in my opinion.

Plus Sam may want some of the drops to be from lower-level mobs, such as SpiderWebs (in which case Taos who level pets in SV will have a massive leg up) or BugShells (pls no, making NephriteBelt/Shoes is hellish as it is).

All new mats, all character bound.
Craftable at any level but a solid grind to create. Should not include all books. Imo should always have a period of find before make.
All current skill should be craftable all new ones drop only for 2months min. Then added to craft

Sounds perfect :)

Although it would have to be different mats for different books in that case, as it may take 2 months to collect the materials then by that time the new books are out and you can make one instantly

True, make it a quest. Can only start 1 book craft quest at a time and all come with specific quest mats
*flamefield paper*
*flamefield ink feather*
And so on, can make segments to each quest so instead of random mat drops could be kill x amount of creatures in x cave reward *flamefield book cover*
and so on again.

I think the main points to really work with are
1) every part of the process needs to be character bound
2)it needs to be time consuming but not impossible.
3) book drops still need to hold some excitement (so drop only books for a period of time)
