internet connection speed to host a server

What is an average internet conection speed to host a server(bout 60ppl online), and what CPU do i need to host a server without lag.

any new none duo or quad core and a 2/3 gig ram

and an upload speed of about 2 meg means no lag

wrong duos are point less as the files only make use of one core. 2 gig will easly do for around 50 players as long as u dont have other crap running at same time. ur conection as in the 2 meg download speeds wont be very good. for a 50 player server base u should be looking at about 2 meg upload NOT DOWNLOAD

I know this but core2 duo is more fast than 1 core..

50 ppl dont use 2 gb.... 100 kas moobs = 1gb for example u have 30 k moobs in all server and 50-60 ppl = 1.5 gb max.

Pd: when i had me server on i have 20-30 user on 40 k moobs ( amd semprom 3000+ 1 gb ram ddr) and i use 700 meg with sql antivirus etc...

To run the server for online use, you need the below.

ISP: 8Mb down with an upload of 256kb = 46kbits - This is minimum.

You can run a server from a standard ISP connection, but will be limited to the amount of players depending on your UP and DOWN speed.

Your server should have at least 1GB of memory and running at least a 2.0Ghz CPU.
