Internet Speed Booster is there really one that works?

As above im looking to speen up my current connection im running

AOL 1mb v.9.0
Win Xp pro sp2
512 DDR Ram
AMD 3100+ 64bit cpu
180 Gig HDD

i dont expect magic i would just like some softwaer that will give me the full speed of my connection & easy to use i searched google & got loads here's one...

Software would never replace professional optimization, liket weating the recieve windows perfectly and adjusting QoS etc. Software don't always work for people because they have preset averages for users, and some people won't see any change. They can mess up and slow down your system too if you're not careful though.

dont diss aol tbh lol... there software may be the poo but aol with a router is not that bad my 1 meg aol broadband is much faster at downloads than my m8`s 2 meg BT broadband lol.

1) Your signature is 2 wide, and it bugs me, change it
2) I'll diss whomever or whatever i want.
3) There software IS poo, but just "may be"
4) AOL with a router is still AOL, just like Speckle or Jamis with new names are still themselves and eventually get discovered
5) Your 1meg aol broadband is probably about as fast as my 56k dialup, and unless your 2meg friend is speed limited (too much downloading) or to far away from the exchange that he is actually on 512k or jsut about 1meg himself, then your aol broiadband is NOT faster, and your probably testing unfairly.

HO, just use a tweak program like TuneUP to do the basic tweaks and stuff. ADSLguide.co.uk is a good website to get tweak info from ^_^

Or just get a computer education on the internet and networking etc and do all the tweeking up by urselfs, hlps a lot u know, saves trouble searching through pointless crap that doesn't actually work lol.

but if u wanna speed up ur download, change and fiddle with ur setting manually, or download 1 of the good download managers lol.

e.g. FlashGet or HiDownload

FG = x5 Download speed
HD = x10 Download speed

Thats what they surposadly give, i personally haven't seen a different when i used em lol

ok ok ok.. yeh i was just proving a point though aol where i am is much better than most other providers e.g speed is ok. the d/c isnt that bad the service has never ever been down longer than 5 seconds. its not that bad and sonic them progs dont boost the speed of any of my downloads easyer its just a safer way i think.

I use flashget but it deffinately doesnt give X5 speed because then i would be downloading at around 650KBps on a 1 meg line which is impossible.
