was listenin to my music on headphones today. got home and plugged into pc. it then went onto the 'do not disconnect' screen. but itunes wldnt load up. restarted pc. pc wldnt load. unplugged ipod and it loaded up fine, but now the ipod is stuck on the 'do not disconnect' screen. pressed every button, off button etc and nothing.

i kno it may b hard to suggest anything, but any ideas on how i cld fix?

atm im letting my battery run down to see if it will boot up correctly after then, but im doubtful it'll turn back on again.

If you download the Ipod updater off the Apple website im sure there is a kind of format Ipod option which resets all the settings but you loose all the music etc from it but Itunes will put it all back on for you next time you plug your Ipod in.
Otherwise if you go to your Ipod options and choose to allow your Ipod to be used as a portable data storage that also resets all your settings and deletes your music from the Ipod.
If this doen't work try going to http://www.apple.com/support/ipod

Hope this helps

normal ipod? or a nano/shuffle thing? if normal then its probably a basic toshiba or similar hard drive in there. if the thing wont work after the battery has died then u can always prise the case off (careful) and remove the drive, then connect direct to your pc with a spade ide connection.

u might not have an ipod left afterwards, but u'll have your music and files back.. lol,

i know people who have replaced faulty harddrives in their ipod's this way. gone from a 20gb to a 100gb drive for a fraction of what Apple would charge
