I don't play the lottery (I used to in a previous job because it was an office thing) but I don't think it's a scam either..

From total ticket sales of £6,730.9 million in the year ending 31 March 2014, £1,751.1 million was raised for National Lottery Projects, while £3,524.4 million was paid to players in prizes. Over the same period, £807.7 million was paid to the Government in Lottery Duty and £309.8 million was paid to retailers in commission.

Broken down figures going on what is given on their site, and how i understand it, if i am wrong, i will look like a massive penis.

• £1,751,100,000 - About 26% Was given to sports, heritage, health, arts & charitable causes
• £3.525,400,000 - About 52.4% Was given to prize winners
• £807,700,000 - About 12% was paid to government
• £309,800,000 - About 4.6% was given back to retailers
• £603,270,000 - 4% (Off their site) was to cover overheads
• £67,030,000 - 1%... was Profit, a large one but everybody is entitled to a profit not to mention having a rainy day fund.

So.. of that £1 you spend:

• 26p is given to a good case
• 52.4p is potential prize money
• 12p is taken by taxes
• 4.6p is to pay the shop worker / website staff
• 4p is to cover their running costs
• 1p into their pocket

Your video is completely biased and you're not highlighting any of the good that comes from it, and actually the biggest thief in this all is the government bro!
