are there any LAN guides knocking about?
i'm hosting on 192.168.0.3
I'm playing on 192.168.0.2
and the router is 192.168.0.1

i've followed the setup guide, and it works great for me i can get ingame, people can create an account, but the gates won't open.
i messed around a bit and voila, the gates open for other people!
but...they won't open for me.

i have an idea what's going on, i'm guessing it's the packets.

anyone else had theirs working on a LAN and wouldn't mind sharing the secret with us? :)

thanks :ghug:

Check to make sure you have the right server name in your config, and it is CASE sensitive. If it still doesn't work, then it's not your router - because if it was you would't be able to connect at all. But is it just a certain account or a certain PC?

I used to run my server over lan and had no problems, just ran it as you would a normal server.

Not sure, but i think installing MS Loopback adapter could do the trick.

the router RP114 does not support loopback.
a lot of netgear routers do not support loopback.

so your next solutions...
setup ms loopback adapter properly. (you can only play on the same computer with the server unless you are really good at messing the routing table)
or buy a linksys router that supports loopback.
or goto internet cafe or friends to play your own server.
