on Cpu-z my core spped and voltage are changing quite rapidly is this because its changing between the two cores or what? it ranges from 800mhz to 1.6ghz, but correct me if i'm wrong dont i want it running at 1.6ghz ALL the time not sometimes 800mhz then 1.6ghz?
or am i just being an idiot?
and i just noticed its only doing that during an installation of WoW.... however when WoW has stopped running its going at 800mhz...surely it should still be going at 1.6ghz....

cpus aren't exactly my strong points so any info on this?

screenies...

I think it runs at different speeds depending on applications open? Like if one is open that needs a lot, it'll run at a high speed. Get umm...oh Dataforce knows what it is. Can enable you to run CPU at full speed all the time...Speedswitch XP I think.

Yeah i think it's because you're on a laptop, when you're not doing anything it makes it so the processor runs slower and saves power (hence battery lasts longer), just a guess anyway but would make sense.

check laptop website or cd for a software... or is it in the bios... you can actually change it to use FULL cpu all the time.. rather than the default which makes the cpu GHz jumps around...

I had this problem with my desktop when the power settings in the control panel were set to minimum
