i know wmp cant play m3u's. u usually get them when u copy music directly from cd to hdd. itunes is the only one ive found that will play them ok.

i do really like WMP10. but i always use itunes for the simple fact i can plug in my ipod and play all my music straight away.

But m3u's are playlists......I use them all the time o.O

Now, m4u's, that's a different bucket. Apple's products use them a lot, and to use them in WMP10.....you need the certain dodgy DirectShow filters I use :P

Winamp is the best imo. When ever possible i use winamp, (i've even been known to convert video files from 1 format to another, or to reencode something to embed subtitles on the image, just so that i can watch it on winamp easily)

If i am too bored to convert/reencode, or i just cant get it working on winamp, i will resort to VLC, which quite simply, plays anything and everything you throw at it.

Yea DF, VLC is awesome, I think its messed up my Windows Media IE/Firefox thing though, when I try play AVI on a website for example, I get the whole screen (in the browser) as the movie rather than the controls/volume and cue line etc
