I think it's just luck of the draw whether you get a good kill or a bad kill.. Some go down relatively easily whilst others seem to be having a bad day and rage for atleast half the kill! Makes it more of a dynamic boss

My experience is WITH a tiger necklace so if they got nerfed I would never touch IWT again
