hey guys just wondering whether its possible to run SQLServer 2000 on windows 7? And if its possible to run TD's 2.3 files on windows 7 and how its done. Gonna build a server in my spare time as im quite bored & have quite a few ideas bustling in my head :)

Don't think you can run a server on w7 buddy unless you have a virtual machine with xp / vista installed on it that would be surgestion to yourself ;)

yep ive had 2.3 on my pc n its windows 7 my son as done it to.

dont no bout sql 2000 as i dnt like it but 2005 works fine

yea my dedi is win 7 u cant use SQL2000 but 05 or 08 works fine and as for files they run fine :)

For future reference, there's a guide on SQL 2005 for windows 7, search is a wonderful feature :O

Yes but i was talking about using Server 2000 not server 2005 if you read correctly :)

Oh, well I may have read it wrong, but theres enough information on the forum using the search feature which would've allowed you to gather research and give you an answer of: it can't be done, basically.

I had already searched and thats why i posted a thread on here asking, if there is no point asking questions other than to get a flame from a user like you, then what would be the point in the server help section?
Either way its solved & you do not need to post.

Was not giving you a flame as such, was basically pointing out the obvious and using common sense, mate what is the point in asking if the answer is already stated, if you had done research like you claim to have done, you would not need to post, the answer is stated clear as day.

Also, you don't need to post either, kthxbi?
