Ok so at the moment we are talking about donations and copyright on a thread made for discussing this topic. Surely anyone not wanting to read or discuss these topics would simply avoid reading the thread?

If you want us to talk about something else why don't you start a new thread and invite us to comment on it?

To be honest the way LOMCN is at the moment, I think many people will be put off posting on many topics because there are so many "experts" who jump straight on you and tell you how silly you look posting.

The point of this thread was to find out how you can legally run a highly successful server (meaning you're on £110+ profit per week) without getting stung by the Tax man.

People can ignore it as much as you like, but until you've ceased illegal activity for 7 years, there's a very good chance you'll have a knock on your door which will be amazingly expensive. Maybe you're happy to live that way, but I'm not. People who don't run successful servers, or run them with very low donations don't have the time to work on it 24/7, if I was on £200-300 per week from donations I'd be happy to put 10-15 hours in per day (like I have been for the last 2 weeks).

In short, we're talking about running a Mir server as a business that pays out enough to 'employ' you for a very high hour full time job. Please, PLEASE don't start up a hissy fit about how wrong it is to run a server to make money, or I really will lose all hope in LOMCN. Not interested? Don't care? Do us all a favour and **** off, Jebus. -_-

first i would be more worried the counts then the taxman ,useing copyrited data (not code) can lead to bigger problems whos to it will happen tho

i been around mir servers for a long time i know of some that made huge amounts of cash with no tax probs in the 10+ i been here nothing has ever happen

Lomcn is about making a server for the injoyment of the game not making money of it

I'm from the usa are tax ppl are alittle to deal with but i dunno how the uk is

Another thread turned utterly pointless, these forums were always spoken of very highly, after a week or so of being here I can't help but think things are now a joke, it's like browsing the Four Heroes forums with Ramboon and others constantly murdering any serious thread.
