Just tried to formatt my pc and....

Well ive just tried to formatt my pc and it says the windows disk i have is and older version then the one thats installed atm so it wont let me, formatt the harddrive is there any other way to formatt the pc with this disk?

Other then get a new windows xp disk...

that looks fine, are you deleteing ur old partision etc? creating a fresh partision and formating?

It doesnt do anything it just loads up windows n starts up as normal :S

so insert xp cd. restart pc. shld load up xp cd. format, delete partition. install xp again.

Try the XP CD off the lomcn downloads.

Nm fixed it was the CD it self which was fked.

I had another copy of it under my desk -_-

Ye, sometimes downloaded versions of the windows CD dont include the boot loader bit, if you were unable to get it working, it would still have been possible to show you how to recreate the cd with the correct boot loader, (or just download urbans version i suppose)

How can you create this disc with the correct boot loader? :O
Or have urbans window installers got the correct boot loader in them??

Because i had a windows install disc that a mate gave me, well, it was a copy of windows on a recordable disc, it worked fine on my lappy and PC, but when i made a copy of the disc onto one of my recordable's i couldnt install windows using the copy i had made on one of my discs, both of my computers just wouldnt boot up off it So i would like to try make a copy for spare keeping so that if i do have to reinstall windows i have my own version with me...

I also have this other disc with a battery refresh utility on it for my laptop, but in order to use the program on it, you have to restart the laptop and let it boot up from the disc, but my lappy just will not boot up off this disc either

Assuming your laptop is set to boot from the CD, yes.
