I bet the only reason you found it was because you were looking to buy it ;)

Least that is how I found it when the domain became open again. I wanted legendofmir.org, being as, the whole project was just an organization.. but sadly the domain sitter re-registered it.

Edit: Sigh, its even in Google, now. It was up for awhile before going into Google though.

Just an Observation really - Recoding Mir2 (or anygame for that matter) is a long exercise, this was undertaken as a means to re-create mir2 from scratch but using your own code. Now the end result of coding something is to then run a server maybe to get people to pay and thus make money yes? It would be silly to put that much time and effort into writing a game only then to share it for free on say LOMCN as a example.

Now although you used No code from MIR2 as such, the look and feel of the game in indeed copywright - cannot see Wemade making a WoW clone and saying its Ok cos we unsed none of there code.

So my point is - well what was the point? Other than to say look what we can do? Maybe you culd sell it to private server ops much like the chinese are doing maybe? As proven with the chinese code though people got around it and pretty soon it became much like the real Mir Server code, shoved around the net and raped.

Anyhow - good work on what you have done though !!

I was going to reply to this yesterday, but simply forgot. I dislike the broken logic in it, thus perhaps this could be considered slight flames. You simply don't understand, that is all. I'll try to explain.

Why does everything require a price? More over, who ever said it was going to be released anyway?

Creating a client that has the ability to use image files from another client is not illegal. It would technically be the users who wish to play the game that would break the Copyright Laws.

Apparently you have no idea what a hobby is. Just because Jim can create Wooden Chairs does not mean he is going to sell them, or let you sit in them for that matter. Are you going to be angry at him for that?

Anyhow - good work on what you have done though !!
YouKnowWho has done an amazing job at recreating a MMORPG client engine and servers, agreed.

The reason i started this project was because i was bored. Was very hard to trying to find new projects to start all the time. So i was browsing these forums one day, and noticed the source code had been released.

I downloaded them had alook through, thought this could be intresting and off i went.

I have learnt so much from doing this, and its not even finshed yet.

Why do you go through the time and effort of setting up a mir3 server files?

Yeah lol he seems like a perfectionist Guess thats both a good and a bad thing

Yes lol, it can become very annoying. When i get to point where its working, but there might just be a little something thats not right, no matter how much i try, i just have to fix it, which most times results in me spending hours changing everything.

well lets just hope something happens and you create a server using those files once you've completed them ^^
