Any advice on where to buy? We tried wren and they did a rough design and quote. The island its self was 2.5k and fitting was 3k lol, You can build it yourself but i don't have the tools to cut the wood or confidence to not mess up a 2.5k build. We can get it flat packed and then pay somebody else to install but you just never know who you're hiring etc..

Any advice for other methods?

Worthing is depressing.
Ikea?

Brother in-law just got a quote of £18k for a WREN kitchen, absolutely degusting prices they're throwing out. Most Kitchen furniture is modular, you'd only really need a carpenter to do the worktop. Providing you can use a level, and a drill you can do the base units yourself, probably order the worktop as a solid piece to just drop ontop.

shouldnt tbe that much surely! can buy fairly good priced wooden worktops off ebay, would suite the whole thing :P

As for carcass / doors etc Ikea/Wicks tbh, unsure if you got a MKM near you, but they seem pretty good priced for bits and bobs.

Just been quoted 16,500 for ours and its not even a big kitchen, madness.

Im assuming thats a kitchen made out of cardboard, if not thats super cheap.

My kitchen is basically identical and was quoted about 15k a few years back by Wren
Wren was one of the most expensive ones, the quote includes no appliances though its literally just the carcasses/doors and worktops (I think)

afaik this is without installation too.

ikea kallax units, game changer

I can't see anything kitchen related in the kallax range but the method range looks spot on.

I reckon I could build a decent island myself using Ikea for around £800 with a worktop. Time to design it
