lol cant really call converting made by scratch by your team. i can remember couple years ago, there never used tobe completed server files released i can remember when crusade and and other servers was made from scratch and some was pritty damn good.

laby 1.9 died due to it being hosted on a server that was rejecting connections from AOL and Virgin broadband providers, when it came to the crunch to actually sort the server out the donations seemingly vanished and were never sent to lapta - at which point the community voted for a 2.3 which then didnt get anywhere due to the team running it doing nothing with it and watching it die.
Penny and i took it over with 3 players playing and it now have 35+ players daily
we also got over 50 for the recent christmas event.good luck with the new server (but didnt those that had requested laby 1.9 be reborn wanted it to be 1.9 due to the lack of PA/Slow and it also had horse and Ranged FF which you dont have in 2.3 ) making a Laby 2.3 will just be a slightly different 2.3 server
if i were you i would launch a 1.9 side by side and see which people prefer and then focus on the one your mates like most good luck though - and tell Vigilante to give me a pm (or shirley on MR forums

1st when i got a 2.3 server set up my main priority was to get as much stuff from the Labyrinth 1.9 into 2.3 as pos and yet alot of its done / some of it has changed in ways plus still lots more 1.9 stuff to be added got a great GM team working on server all the time (infact when work dont stop?) i dont no :P
Once server is live there will be plenty for every 1 to do and enjoy =] no need for sz bummers with im bored ! :P
alot more great plans and ideas for server still to come =]
