ok my younger sister just got her laptop back from being repaired about a week ago and she already managed to brake it again so thoght id come here see if anyone here can help.

when the laptop gets powered up it go into all the boot modes eg normal lastworking safetymode but soon as you chose one loads windowxp screen and get a flash of a bluescreen then restarts the computer

my guess is a format will fixs this but she dosent want one as she downloaded loads of songs probly full of viruses any help other than a format whould be nice

try this first before you format

Boot from the windows XP CD, press the "R" key in the setup in order to start the restoration console. Select your windows XP installation from the list, and enter the administrator password.
Enter the command: "FIXMBR" (without the quotes) at the input prompt and confirm the next question with a "Y" (without the quotes). Use exit to restore the computer.

if that fails come back to us again

Boot failure im afraid so the standard FIXMBR wont work - needs to check that the hard drive is running fully so would suggest running a CHKDSK ether via DOS or via the bios - this will check the hard drive for and bad sectors.

But ether way it has to be a fresh install ne ways as its missing the boot.ini file.
