Laptop EGPU - External laptop GPU card.

I know a lot of you guys have been having problems on chron due to using laptop integrated graphics, i know this isnt for everyone but it is a solution if your looking to get round and still play on your laptop. I does make the laptop a stationary machine and takes away the mobile playability and only possible if you have an express card slot on your laptop.

And if your creative enough you could even pull something like this together..

I dont think an external psu is really needed as your not needing the most powerful card in the world but if you are then obviously need to sort that out aswell.

Also if anyone is wondering the best card that doesnt require a power source at the moment i would say is the 750ti.

The integrated graphics / additional video card issue... What happens if you disable the integrated graphics card?

If you mean its using integrated instead of the dedicated try this.

Assuming its Nvidia..

From NVIDIA Control Panel
3D Settings->Manage 3D Settings
Tab "Global setttings"
Preferred Graphics Processor
Select : High performance NVIDIA rocessor

If that still doesnt work then check this.

This happens when these services are stopped :
1. NVIDIA Driver Helper Service
2. NVIDIA Update Service Daemon.

Start Task Manager .Click the tab "Services" .Click on a button named "Services ..." .Find them.their names .Right click on them .then Properties . Then Click on "Start " and then select Start-up time :
for the first ->Automatic
for the second -service > Automatic(Delayed Start)

Should be relatively the same for amd card tho it was be in CCC.

Also make sure the cards are showing in device manager and drivers are properly installed.

All else fails uninstall drivers, reboot.. install drivers.. reboot, should hopefully sort it if everything above is in order.

would egpu not be affected by whatever you use to connect it to the laptop? usb 2 or 3? 3 being the fastest, unless it uses one of them other ports on most laptops that i have never had anything that fits into them.

This could be an issue my old hp laptop (about 2 years old) had vga and hdmi out put, is there a way to make it so these could be used for input?

No this setup is only available for laptops with an Express card slot.. there are other methods but usually a lot more expensive.
