Forgot to ask LOMCN for their opinions! ^_____^

The idea just randomly came to me and I had to create it, and here's the result.

The quotation is religious, but the piece is directed more towards racial equality than religion. I felt the commandment was somewhat more powerful, although its meaning is much broader.

Please feel free to leave your comments.

Sure thing, that piece was done using vectoring, brushing and custom shapes.

The hands were just a picture of two people holding hands, which I re-sized and transformed into vector art (plenty of tutorials). Then it was just a lot of positioning, the tails were done freehand with the pen tool, and a splash set of brushes for the background.

The key to it is the simplicity of colouring, which I think gives it that final crisp feeling... the vector I normally do has a lot more layers and complexity to it, which can be easily flawed this piece I did had over 120 layers, due to the amount of shading and highlighting needed to give the face dimension, but it still looks very flawed (haven't quite perfected shading/highlighting yet).

If you pm me your msn I’d be more than happy to talk with you more about it, or provide you with some resources to get started.

Thanks very much for your comments.

I said nice but i didnt read your message under, its a very good piece, but it doesn't convey any of what you meant it to. No way near powerful enough. To me anyways.

Meh, I’m not exactly trying to eradicate racism by shocking it out of people’s systems :p

It’s just a statement. I feel the handshake is the most global form of acceptance. The formation of two races starts, the splashes symbolise our differences, our quirks that have kept racism alive throughout history, then that global handshake is brought at the end symbolising this day. I feel although racism still exists, it’s nothing compared to what it used to be… acceptance is the message, love is the wish.

Each to their own though mate, I don’t expect everyone to see my art the way I do, you have to make of it what you will. If you just see it as a nice piece with no real message, then I’m flattered that you at least like the work.

Thanks to everyone for their comments though, I’m currently working on a new piece, again in vector (it’s taking a while, quite a lot of detail), I hope to finish it soon though. I’ll be sure to post it.

Here maybe? Otherwise I can assure you you're having dodgy dreams, this was a unique idea that came to me. The handshake alone has been done before to promote racial equality (in fact, I'm pretty sure it's a logo), but not in the same context.
