It's not uncommon for developers, especially these days in mobile games to just re-skin.

I messed with that one you linked for like 15 mins... you literally do nothing but a few UI clicks lol.
I don't see the appeal in these at all.

early on it is there is not much to do once you get about a week in tho theres alot more to do its mainly time management and knowing whats best/efficient way to upgrade things
