127.0.0.1 is a loop back address and can't be used to play a server through a lan - You would need to be using a 197.168.x.x or if using a DHCP then the IP you assigned yourself.
The only way you can play a server on 127.0.0.1 - is if you playing it on the machine with the files on - Which isnt recomended if you have crap specs.
works also with older crap *hehe
i had a server offline in use for testing on a 850MHz pc with 512 ram and 80GB Hdd and that works fine without lagging or else. sure its nothin to set it online but for offline its rly enough
and had server and client on same pc and to play was no prob!
