Is it possible to get mir running under mandrake with wine?
I'm rather new to the whole linux world, wondering if this is poss...

I thought Mir needed to be run under an direct x api specifically and wine wouldn't work... although i could be wrong. There are emulators out there, but they aren't all that great but they should work with lom.

There is winex which is kinda like directx, and mir client _has_ worked on wine in the past from what i heard (Was speaking to a GM on euro mir once who commented on someone he knew)

Yup, MIR runs fine on WineX by Transgaming (pay or use a P2P network). Although some people report poor frame rates.

You seem to have forgot about VMWare - runs a real windows machine inside a window, so MIR would def work on that.

ye, but vmware has next to no graphics or sound support, it only does the bare minimal, its not made for playing games.
