Well recently I ordered a laptop off ebuyer, well, sometime last week. No sign of it yet so I rang them and they said they had discontinued the product. Wahey, so, I need to get a new one now. I have around £500 to spend. It isn't a lot but is all I can afford as I'm getting a car and stuff soon.

Anyway, what I want to do on it. Right, it needs a sort of large HDD, 60-80gb would be nice. I tend to download a lot of music, up to about 30gb or so on this computer now, so gonna transfer most of it over. Doesn't need to be super processor or RAM, 512mb will do and processor, well I don't mind, the faster the better. I will be doing schoolwork on it, listening to music, and playing the new RZMir2 server on it. As most laptops come with integrated graphics, well, all do, then integrated is fine for Mir.

As I said, £500 is my limit, give or take say 20 quid or so. P+P doesn't have to be included, and the make doesn't matter.

Thank you very much in advance anyone who can find me anything.

P.S. Would like it from an actual shop as you get warranty with it

dnt buy from ebuyer, believe me, i've had two cases of discontined products, with my replacement stock, soon as i send it back, the day they receive it, the stock magically discontinues and thats happened twice now, and i resolved the first issue, but after about 2 months, i ams till tryin to get my full refud for my cpu out of them which they promised, i would get, i DO NOT recommend ebuyer, try, www.ebuyersucks.com for more info LOL

The beginning of that post was telling you that I cancelled my order from ebuyer and am not buying off them...so don't worry, I wasn't planning on buying my laptop from ebuyer. I was looking for actual suggestions of laptops to purchase.

You have more chance of Tony Blair teabagging your grandparents than meeting your specs.

40gb is the 'standard' size of laptop harddisks at the moment. 60gb gets expensive. 80gb....Well....look more to £1500 than £500.

And warranties - they don't come particularily cheap either. Buying from a shop only means you have the right to return it if the product is DOA. Not if you screw it over with KaZaA.

Spend the £500 on your car, because you won't get the laptop you want with it.

An 80gb HDD laptop for 500 pounds. Also if you Froogle laptops then the 80gb HDD laptops aren't that expensive, nothing like £1500. Also 60GB HDD laptops are quite cheap, not really expensive.

I don't use Kazaa for one, the only reason I want a warranty is incase there is any hardware failure or problems, in the event of which I can take it back and get it repaired. Most shops offer 1 year warranty included in the price of the laptop, and still keep the price low for what the laptop actually is.

I have money set aside for a car. I'm looking for a laptop for the end of my time in sixth form and for Uni. There are many laptops within my price range with decent specs, I suggest you take a look around and search on Google before coming on and trying to prove me wrong, and prove my budget worthless, because it isn't for around the specs I want.
